FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. Disclosed are methods and systems for determining changes in the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR) flow passage for calculating EGR flow values with allowance for soot build-up on the EGR valve. Substance of the invention consists in the fact that during the method implementation the soot accumulation on the EGR valve is indicated as per difference of the EGR flow values calculated with the help of the oxygen sensor at the inlet and the pressure sensor installed parallel to the EGR valve. Determination of difference between EGR flow values is possible when engine supercharging is not performed.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of determining value of recirculation.
