METHOD OF SEALING RAILWAY BALLAST Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC E01B27/13

Abstract RU 2676253 C1

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method can be used in the construction, maintenance and repair of railways to compact ballast. When compaction of the railroad track ballast, the vibrating underframes are lowered to the prescribed depth, the cycle is carried out by squeezing/expanding the underframes. To increase the degree and uniformity of ballast compaction, the cycle for squeezing/expanding the underframes is performed once more. Additional cycles of squeezing/expanding of the underframes can be carried out before lowering the upper surface of the ballast in the inter-pin box to the level of the lower surface of the sleepers. Underframes are lifted to the starting position.

EFFECT: increase in the degree of ballast compaction is achieved by increasing the volume of the ballast material fed to the ballast prism seal.
