FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a rigid PIR foam composite containing man-made vitreous fibres (MMVF), the method includes providing MMVF, wherein at least 50 % of the fibres by weight have a length of less than 250 mcm, providing a polyol component, mixing the MMVF and polyol component in a ratio such that the amount of MMVF is at least 10 % by weight based on total weight of polyol component, emulsifying pentane with the mixture of polyol component and MMVF, inducing foam formation by addition of a further component which contains isocyanate. Also described is a composite based on foamed PIR, a foamed composite and a foaming composition.
EFFECT: technical result is providing improved process efficiency, obtaining a product, characterised by less deterioration of lambda value in time, providing foam characterised by a smaller pore size and a high content of closed pores, in comparison with equivalent foams that do not contain MMVF.
