METHOD OF COMBINED TREATMENT OF COMMON HEMANGIOMAS OF NASAL, ORAL AND HYPOPHARYNGEAL PHARYNX Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B18/20 A61B17/12

Abstract RU 2676646 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to vascular surgery, and can be used for the combined treatment of common hemangiomas of the nasal, oral and hypopharyngeal pharynx. New growths are removed in the coagulation mode by summing the radiation of a Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of 1.064 nm over a quartz fiber with a diameter of 400 mcm. Impact parameters: laser output power from 10 to 15 W, exposure time from 6 to 10 min, distance from the fiber end to the tumor from 3 mm to 10 mm, radiation power density from 850 to 50 W/cm2, pulse duration from 0.5 to 1 s. One month before coagulation, the right femoral artery was catheterized according to the Seldinger method. Guide, along with the catheter, is inserted into the carotid arteries and angiography is performed to determine the vessels supplying the cavernous angioma. Conduct superselective catheterization of the arteries with the installation of embolization coils.

EFFECT: method allows to achieve the effect of deep penetration into the tissue of an angioma subjected to laser irradiation with the ability to coagulate large abnormal blood vessels, achieving a reduction in tumor volume with full preservation of respiratory function and swallowing.
