SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used to produce an experimental model of osteoporosis. Three-year-old sheep of the North Caucasian breed is subjected to bilateral ovariectomy. From the second day after the operation, intramuscular administration of dexamethasone is carried out for 3 months at a dose of 12 mg per 1 kg of body by 6 injections per week.

EFFECT: method provides for the creation of an experimental model of osteoporosis, which allows to exclude the mortality of experimental subjects, to obtain a model of osteoporosis with a large volume of tissues that is complete and irreversible throughout the life of the animal, available for research through the use of a three-year-old sheep of the North Caucasian breed, a bilateral ovariectomy and the most optimal regimen and dosage of dexamethasone.
