SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to biotechnology and agriculture and constitutes an application of the material of a transgenic maize plant including maize granules, maize silage, dry-crushed maize kernels, flakes made of steam-treated maize kernels, whole maize kernels, coarse-crushed maize kernels, maize with a high moisture content, or any combination thereof, as a feed for animals, wherein the material of a transgenic maize plant comprises a recombinant alpha-amylase, wherein said α-amylase comprises a polypeptide at least 80% identical to the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 1, or a polypeptide encoded by a nucleotide sequence at least 80% identical to the nucleotide sequence SEQ ID NO: 2 and/or SEQ ID NO: 3.

EFFECT: invention provides a possibility of increasing the rate of weight gain of animals, increasing the milk yield volume, and raising the accessibility efficiency of the feed.
