FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical technology, namely to the management of the orientation of an individual during the magnetic resonance imaging. This system for positioning an individual’s foot relative to the equipment of magnetic resonance imaging during the scanning process contains a foot positioning device comprising a foot support section including a foot support for placing at least one foot of said individual in a fixed position relative to the device, a means for fixing the individual's foot on the specified foot support during the scanning process, the base of the device, made with the possibility of fixing the support section for feet on it, a foot support section that contains a support surface for placing at least one foot of said individual in a fixed position relative to the device, wherein the support surface contains at least two elements of the image marker, which are visible when the magnetic resonance image is recorded, an arc for the heel, arranged to be positioned behind the heel of the individual and sliding relative to the surface for the foot, a means for fixing the individual's foot on the supporting surface during scanning, wherein the base of the device is additionally configured to ensure fixation of the support surface for the foot on it. This method for controlling the orientation of the foot of an individual’s relative to the system of magnetic resonance imaging during magnetic resonance imaging includes placing the positioning device for the foot in a fixed and reproducible position in the radio frequency coil of the magnetic resonance imaging system, positioning the foot of an individual in the positioning device in a fixed and reproducible position relative to the elements of the image marker located in the device in such a way as to determine the plane, which is the benchmark for the remaining planes of the magnetic resonance imaging of the foot of an individual, recording magnetic resonance image in order to check the correct positioning of the foot, if necessary, correcting the position of the foot relative to the markers and the device in the magnetic resonance imaging system, recording magnetic resonance images.
EFFECT: use of inventions allows to achieve reproducibility of the position of the foot of an individual during various tests using magnetic resonance imaging.
