FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to X-ray diagnostics and can be used for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the hand. MRI is performed with the patient lying on his/her stomach with an outstretched arm and placing the patient's hand in a radiofrequency coil. Patient's hand is laid by fixing it in a comfortable position using a splint, which is a plate of polymethylmethacrylate with four fixing textile fasteners on elastic tapes, which can be used for left and right hands. MRI of the hand is possible on any magnetic resonance tomograph. MRI of the hand is performed using a volumetric head-mounted radiofrequency coil and a scanning protocol involving: preliminary scanning for the purpose of adjustment and positioning of slices, obtaining T1-weighted images in the coronal plane, images obtained using spin echo inversion-recovery (STIR) in coronal plane, images, weighted by proton density with suppression of signal from adipose tissue in sagittal, coronal and axial planes. MRI of the hand—wrist area is performed using a volumetric knee radiofrequency coil and a scanning protocol involving: preliminary scanning in order to adjust and position the slices, obtaining T1-weighted images and T2-weighted images in the coronal plane, obtaining images weighted by proton density with suppression of signal from adipose tissue in coronal and axial planes, STIR in sagittal plane.
EFFECT: methods provide leveling of excessive voluntary movement of extremity, reduction of scanning time, improvement of MRI quality of hand due to use of splint, which is a plate of polymethyl methacrylate with four fixing textile fasteners on elastic tapes, which can be used for left and right hands.
