SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to a method of controlling a medical device. Computer readable storage medium comprises computer-readable instructions for executing by a processor controlling a medical thermotherapeutic device, a method comprising: receiving location data indicative of the location of a target volume; controlling a positioning system to rotate a therapy device comprising an energy-delivering device about a longitudinal axis of the therapy device; controlling the energy-delivering device to deliver energy to the target volume at a first rotation position relative to the longitudinal axis on a rotation trajectory of the therapy device using the location data; determining a first fixed set of slice planes, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the catheter at the first rotation position to be imaged by a magnetic resonance imaging module; controlling the magnetic resonance imaging module to acquire first magnetic resonance data from the first set of slice planes; determining a second set of slice planes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the catheter, rotating relative to the rotation of the catheter in at least one second rotation position of the therapy device on the rotation trajectory to be imaged by the magnetic resonance imaging module; and controlling the magnetic resonance imaging module to acquire second magnetic resonance data from the second set of slice planes.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables to obtain sufficient thermal necrosis for the target volume, and also to avoid excessive heating and damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
