FIELD: motors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines. Methods are disclosed for quick lubrication of a high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) during its operation without fuel supply to the engine, at which the pressure in the fuel rail quickly responds to the given relative duration of operation of the HPFP. Method is necessary to control HPFP operation during those periods of time when direct fuel injection into the engine is not required and when HPFP operation continues to maintain pump lubrication. To carry out the lubrication of the HPFP and at the same time obtain zero flow data, methods are disclosed that encompass the control of HPFP operation with and without feedback.
EFFECT: method of controlling operation of a high-pressure fuel pump (versions) and a fuel system are provided.
