FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in electrical networks and their mode control systems, including in the production of automation digital protection relay. Essence: for determining the derivative of the controlled variable, that may be current or voltage, tables of sines and cosines of angles from the angular frequency are entered into the control computer memory, sign reversal moment of the controlled variable is fixed, value of the controlled variable is measured at an interval from the sign reversal moment of a controlled variable to the moment of measuring of the controlled variable. Derivative of the controlled variable is defined as the cosine of the angle from the sign reversal moment of the controlled variable to the moment of measuring multiplied by the ratio of the measured variable value to the sine of the angle of the angular frequency.
EFFECT: reduced time of determining the derivative and reduced aperiodic component.
