FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in electric networks and systems for control of normal and emergency modes. In particular, when creating digital relay protection and automation. Method is based on three samples separated by identical time intervals. Current value of current or voltage is determined as difference of double value of average sample and sum of values of extreme samples, obtained difference is divided into square of doubled sine of time interval expressed in radians. Current or voltage derivative is defined as the ratio of the difference between the values of the third and first samples to the doubled sinus of the sampling interval expressed in radians.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method for determining instantaneous values of currents and voltages for digital relay protection and automation.
