METHOD OF COMPLEX DIAGNOSTICS OF FOOD ALLERGY TO PROTEINS OF COW MILK IN BABIES Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B10/00 A61B5/16 G01N33/68

Abstract RU 2676970 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, pediatrics, allergology, pediatric gastroenterology. Complex diagnostics of food allergy to cow milk proteins in babies is carried out by identifying diagnostic criteria. In this case, the content of the eosinophilic cationic protein in the coprofiltrate is determined as a diagnostic criterion, and clinical and anamnestic criteria are also evaluated. Following anamnestic criteria are used: presence of allergic diseases in the anamnesis of the mother and/or the first-degree relatives, acute exacerbation of a chronic diseases in the mother during pregnancy, the threat of termination of pregnancy, acute exacerbation of allergic diseases in the mother during pregnancy, pathological birth – delivery by caesarean section, inefficient feeding – frequent replacement of breast milk substitutes, irrational diet, presence of allergic dermatitis in the first months of life. Following clinical criteria are used: presence of intestinal colic, abdominal distention, unstable stool – intestinal obstruction and/or of non-infectious diarrhea, mucous nose fluid, periodical nasal stuffiness, not associated with acute respiratory infection, the presence of cutaneous eruption. Presence of the criterion is estimated at 1 point, the absence – 0 points. If there are 8 or more points in combination with the content in the coprofiltrate of the eosinophilic cationic protein more than 455.57 ng/ml, the presence of a food allergy to cow's milk proteins is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides a non-invasive, safe and effective early diagnosis of food allergy to cow's milk proteins in babies by identification of set of criteria taking into account both the clinical manifestations of the pathological process and laboratory tests.
