FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information tools used, in particular, for purposes of navigation, monitoring and docking space objects (SO). Method involves laser beam scanning a given area of space by reflecting beam from a mirror on a turntable installed in electromechanical suspension. Platform move in azimuth and elevation is set by system of electromagnets, powered by current in form of a saw-tooth pulse train. Direction to SO is determined by parameters of sweep pulses, at which the signal of laser radiation reflected from SO is registered.

EFFECT: technical result is aimed at improving efficiency of determining direction to SO.
