SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a patient interface device selection system that uses 3-D models. Way in which: create a 3-D model of the patient’s face, as well as each of the faces; and provide a 3-D model of the patient's face to the patient interface device selection system; provide 3-D face models to the patient interface device selection system. System comprises: database of geometric indices of fit, made with the possibility of storing 3-D models of individuals and a pre-calculated geometric index of fit for each of the patient interface devices for each of the individuals; and first processing unit configured to receive a 3-D model of the patient’s face and determine a geometric fit index for each of the patient interface devices for the patient’s face, the first processing unit comprising: match search unit configured to match the 3-D models of the patient’s face with the stored 3-D models of the faces and using a pre-calculated geometric fit index for each of the patient interface devices for the matched faces to determine a geometric fit index for the patient interface devices for the patient’s face, the geometric fit parameter for the corresponding patient interface device is the rating of fitting between the geometry of the patient's face and the geometry of the corresponding patient interface device. Way in which: take the geometric fit indicator, geometric fit parameters. Use certain geometric fit parameters to manufacture a patient interface device for a patient, determine the shape of the patient interface device for the patient and/or select a patient interface device suitable for the patient from a predetermined set of patient interface devices.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides an increase in the efficiency of selection of patient interface devices.
