FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to medical equipment. Blood pump system comprises a centrifugal blood pump for pumping blood with a low pulse pressure with a working range from about 50 milliliters per minute to about 1,500 milliliters per minute. Pump includes a pump housing that forms a pump inlet for receiving blood and direct blood to an impeller, wherein the pump housing has an upper thrust bearing extending from the upper part of the housing into the inlet, and a lower thrust bearing extending from the lower part of the housing into the inner space of the housing, with the possibility of sharing axial load between the upper thrust bearing and the lower thrust bearing, and each thrust bearing may account for 0 % to 100 % axial load. Impeller is suspended inside the housing, and between the impeller and the upper part of the housing there is a first gap, lying in the range from about 0.05 mm to about 0.2 mm. Impeller axis has a first end for engaging the upper axis and a second end for engaging the lower axis. Plurality of blades on the upper surface of the impeller extends radially from the centre of the impeller, wherein the blades force the blood received through the inlet to pass through the pump housing to the outlet. Cavity extends parallel to the central axis of the impeller from the lower surface through the impeller to the upper surface. Magnet is mechanically mounted on the impeller. Electric motor includes a magnet assembly and electrical windings and interacts magnetically with said at least one magnet, wherein the electric motor rotates at least one magnet and said impeller. First connecting tube has two ends, one of which is adapted to fluidically communicate with the pump inlet, and the other is adapted to fluidically communicate with the peripheral vein. Second connecting tube has two ends, one of which is adapted to fluidically communicate with the outlet of the pump, and the other is designed to be inserted into the peripheral vein.

EFFECT: device and methods for the implementation of a blood pump are disclosed.
