FIELD: seismology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seismology and can be used for operational forecasting of an earthquake hypocenter. From the waveforms of noise of five seismic stations, the moments of arrival of pulses from micro-faults in the source of preparation of the upcoming earthquake are extracted by filtering. On the basis of the data obtained, the system of the corresponding non-linear equations is solved. Results of solving a system of linear equations determine an earthquake hypocenter.

EFFECT: operational forecasting of an earthquake hypocenter.
