FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and power electronics and can be used to control sources of reactive power constructed on the basis of thyristor converters. Thyristor switched capacitor group containing two branches, each of which consists of a series-connected bidirectional thyristor switch and a capacitor connected in parallel to the terminals of capacitor group, is implemented so that each branch contains series-connected additional bidirectional thyristor switch, one of the terminals of additional bidirectional thyristor switches of branches are connected to opposite terminals of capacitor group, and between other terminals of the additional bidirectional thyristor switches of branches, auxiliary bidirectional thyristor switch is included, wherein, in addition to branches having serial connection of bidirectional thyristor switch and capacitor, any number of additional branches are connected in parallel, containing serial connection of bidirectional thyristor switch and capacitor.
EFFECT: increase in discreteness of regulating capacitors of a capacitor group with limited number of capacitors included.
