FIELD: computer equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method includes obtaining a tire model; obtaining preliminary tire images; obtaining from them value for adjustment, which displays geometric characteristic of tire; calculating its deviation from corresponding reference value of said model; adjusting the setting parameters corresponding to the tire model based on the calculated deviation, and inspecting the tire to search for defects by obtaining images of part of the tire surface when using image acquisition devices installed in accordance with the setting parameters, adjusted in this way.
EFFECT: possibility of automatic and optimum control of setting parameters of devices for obtaining images for control of tires corresponding to the same model, taking into account of inevitable variability of their geometrical characteristics.
