FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to optical smoke detectors. Optical smoke detector comprises: an emitter which, when energised, emits a beam of a first light radiation in the direction of a measuring chamber; a receiver which detects the scattered light radiation from the measuring chamber; a carrier element connected to the emitter and receiver; an optical emitter unit having an emitter housing and an emitter channel into which the emitter is inserted, wherein the optical barrier of the emitter formed in the housing of the emitter blocks at least part of the beam of the first light radiation; and an optical receiver unit having a receiver housing and a receiver channel into which the receiver is inserted, wherein the optical barrier of the receiver is formed in the receiver housing. Each of the optical barrier of the emitter and the optical barrier of the receiver comprise corresponding first and second oblong flat segments formed, respectively, in both the emitter housing and the receiver housing. First and second oblong flat segments of the optical emitter unit are formed in the emitter housing in such a way as to partially block the beam of the first light radiation. First and second oblong flat segments of the optical receiver unit are formed in the receiver housing in such a way as to partially block the scattered light radiation. First and second oblong flat segments of the optical emitter unit are connected to form the optical barrier of the emitter with a first V-shape. First and second oblong flat segments of the optical receiver unit are connected to form the optical barrier of the receiver with a second V-shape.

EFFECT: condensate, dust, insects, or other small objects that may be deposited on the optical unit do not cause a significant increase in the output optical signal.
