SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to vehicle armrests. In the method, the vehicle armrest assembly contains a vertically operable armrest, an adjustment mechanism, a control in communication with the adjustment mechanism, and a recess. Said armrest is attached to the door frame. Said adjustment mechanism selectively positions the armrest between a plurality of vertical positions relative to the door frame. Said recess is formed in the cushion of the armrest to slidably engage with the interior door trim. Further, a part of the cushion continues between the interior door trim and the substrate.
EFFECT: improved comfort for passengers or driver.
