FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the preparation of a powder based on refractory compounds. Method includes the preparation of an exothermic mixture of transition metal and non-metal, placing the prepared mixture in a cylindrical reactor, initiating the combustion reaction in the prepared mixture in the mode of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) of refractory compounds, shear deformation of the combustion products to obtain a powder. Shear deformation of the combustion products is carried out immediately after the passage of the combustion reaction wave by means of a rotor rotating with a frequency of 600–3,000 rpm, which is lowered into the cylindrical reactor to the ground.

EFFECT: increased productivity is provided.
