FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of powdered materials of refractory compounds. Method involves preparation of exothermic mixture of transition metal and non-metal with 1–5 wt. % of polyethylene powder, arrangement of prepared mixture in cylindrical reactor, initiation of combustion reaction in the prepared mixture in self-propagating high-temperature synthesis mode (SHS) and shearing deformation of combustion products to produce powder.
EFFECT: increased yield of particles of the obtained powder with dimensions smaller than 400 mcm.
