FIELD: plastic processing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of manipulation of webs. When splicing webs of packaging material, the webs of packaging material are guided through a splicing device. Splicing device comprises one or more imaging devices, a slitter and a sealing unit. Using the imaging device, a first set of images of one or more areas of packaging material is obtained. First set of images is stored. Web of packaging material is slit to form a tail end and a front end of the web. Front end and tail end are aligned. Ends are superimposed on each other. Imaging device and a stored first set of images are used to fine-tune the alignment of the front end and the tail end. Splice is sealed.
EFFECT: high reliability is provided, efficiency increases.
