FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacturing, in particular, of friction pairs, braking devices using the technology of obtaining wear-resistant coatings on metals using the energy of explosives. Two-layer package is composed in which the cladding plate is made of copper and the cladded plate is made of a magnesium alloy with the predetermined thickness ratio. Heat treatment of the welded blank at a temperature of 450–480 °C is carried out for 6–10 hours to obtain between the layers of copper and magnesium alloy continuous solid intermetallic diffusion layer consisting of copper and components of magnesium alloy. Resulting blank is cooled in an aqueous solution of sodium chloride, which leads to spontaneous separation of the copper layer from the magnesium alloy layer on the diffusion intermetallic layer with the formation of highly hard wear resistant coatings on the copper and magnesium alloy plates.
EFFECT: method provides for simultaneous production of high-hard wear-resistant coatings on plates made of copper and magnesium alloy with a small amplitude of waves on their outer surfaces.
