SLEEP CONTROL Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61M21/00 A61B5/08 A61B5/83

Abstract RU 2679867 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to control of a subject’s sleep, and can be used to control the subject’s sleep and obtain accurate information about sleep without physical contact with the sleeping subject. Measured CO2 concentration in the ambient air is taken. Information about the nature of sleep or wakefulness on the measured concentration of CO2 is obtained. Upon receipt of the above information about the nature of sleep, indications are given that the subject is awake when the rate of increase in the controlled concentration is above the first threshold value. And evidence that the subject is asleep is given when the rate of increase in the controlled concentration of CO2 is below the first threshold. Sleep monitoring system for performing the steps of a subject's sleep monitoring method includes a CO2 sensor and processor connected to the CO2 sensor with an ability to transfer data. Moreover, the processor is designed to control the concentration of CO2 in ambient air according to sensor data provided by the sensor of CO2 concentration in the air. Processor is configured to perform the steps of the method and ability to determine the first threshold value by on-site calibration of the sleep monitoring system. Computer-readable storage medium with computer-readable software commands, implemented in this case, when the processor executes a sleep monitoring system to instruct the processor to implement a method for monitoring the subject’s sleep.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides information on the nature of the subject's sleep without the need to contact him by controlling the amount of CO2 exhaled by the subject and the rate of increase in its concentration, which is a function of the subject state of activity.
