FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seismic spit (1) intended to be towed underwater at a towing speed in ice-free or fully or partially ice-covered water, while spit (1) is provided with gondolas (2) spaced along the spit. Spit, which includes gondola (2), has a negative buoyancy, and nacelles have wings (8), the parameters thereof can be set the way the nacelles apply upward or downward force to the spit during movement in the water. Spit (1) is provided with floating bodies (4) spaced along the spit, while the floating bodies are connected to the oblique spacer elements (5), the spit including gondolas, floating bodies with associated spacer elements and any other equipment in common difficulty has positive buoyancy. In addition, the invention relates to a corresponding method of protecting seismic streamer (1) from damage with a significant decrease in speed or termination of towing, when towing is carried out under water in ice-free or fully or partially ice-covered water.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the information content and reliability of the data received.
