FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used for the production of aluminum master alloys used for the modification of alloys. Method includes the preparation and melting of a mixture containing sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride, a compound of rare metal and aluminum, aluminothermic reduction of the corresponding metal from its compound, followed by separation of the precipitate. Sodium fluoride and potassium fluoride are taken in a ratio equal to 1:1, as a rare metal compound, oxide or fluoride or metal oxyfluoride selected from the group including scandium, yttrium, zirconium is used in the amount of 4–10 wt.% of the total, the aluminum content is 50–65 wt.% of the total, and after aluminothermic reduction, the melt is kept at a temperature of 725–775 °C for 15–20 minutes and carry out settling centrifugation at a speed of 1,000–2,500 rpm for 10–12 minutes.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain a ligature based on aluminum with a high content of alloying metal more than 20 wt%.
