FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Crystalline lithium aluminum hydride is obtained by reacting lithium hydride with a solution of aluminum chloride in n-dibutyl ether in the absence of seed at temperature of minus 18 °C – minus 12 °C. Resulting solution is stirred and settled. Clarified solution of lithium aluminum hydride is decanted, then crystallized by gradual heating up to 80 °C. Precipitated lithium aluminum hydride is washed three times with hexane and then dried at 60 °C under vacuum for 2 hours.
EFFECT: proposed invention allows to obtain high-purity crystalline lithium aluminum hydride with the content of the main substance of 95–96 %.
