FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the production of photocatalysts and sorbents for the purification of water and air from toxic substances. To obtain a titanium-silicon sodium-containing product, the decomposition of the sphene concentrate with hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 30–35 % is carried out at a temperature of 95–105 °C to form a solution of calcium chloride and titanium-silicon residue. Specified residue is separated from the calcium chloride solution and treated with sodium hydroxide solution in the presence of liquid sodium glass. Treatment is carried out for 1.5–3 hours at a mass ratio of the titanium-silicon residue, sodium hydroxide NaOH and liquid glass Na2SiO3, equal to 1:1.5–3:2.5–3.5. Obtained titanium-silicon sodium-containing suspension is maintained in sealed conditions at a temperature of 180–220 °C for 48–96 h with the formation of titanium-silicon sodium-containing precipitate. Precipitate obtained is separated, washed with water and dried.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a monophasic titanium-silicon sodium-containing product of a stable structure with high sorption capacity and photocatalytic activity, while reducing the number of operations and the number of reagents.
