FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the lithium-ion batteries cathode and anode materials production. Cobalt oxide Co3O4 powder production method includes the 6-hydrous nitric cobalt and gelling agent initial mixture heating, with the produced powder subsequent annealing. Initial mixture additionally contains the basic hydrous cobalt carbonate at weight ratio of CoCO3⋅Co(OH)2⋅H2O:Co(NO3)2⋅6H2O equal to 1:0.42. As the gelling agent, the 270–510 g of glycine and 440–730 g of 1-hydrous citric acid mixture per 1 kg of the obtained product is used. Initial mixture is heated to 300–350 °C. Obtained powder annealing after the initial mixture heating is carried out at 850–900 °C for 4–5 hours.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the electricity costs due to the utilization of excess thermal energy in the powder of cobalt oxide production process and the process simplification.
