FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering and can be used to produce cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Method of producing cathode material for lithium-ion batteries LiNixMnyCozO2, where 0.33≤x≤0.9; 0.05≤y≤0.4; 0.05≤z≤0.33; involves obtaining an initial mixture of powders of salts of the corresponding metals and lithium acetate or hydroxide, taken in a stoichiometric ratio, grinding the obtained mixture, drying with heating and subsequent two-step annealing, wherein the mixture of powders of the corresponding metals is a mixture of an aqueous metal nitrate selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co, Mn, aqueous acetate or aqueous oxalate or aqueous citrate of metal selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co, Mn, and a metal oxide selected from a group comprising Ni, Co, Mn, wherein grinding is carried out after preliminary drying at temperature of 75-200 °C for 1-1.5 hours, and annealing is carried out with intermediate grinding: I stage – at temperature of 550-600 °C for 4-5 hours; II stage – at temperature of 700-950 °C for 10-15 hours, followed by grinding of the obtained product.
EFFECT: simplifying the process and avoiding contamination of the end product with impurities.
