FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing a cathode material for lithium-ion batteries includes burning an initial reaction solution containing a mixture of nitrates of the corresponding metals and, at least, one gelatinizing agent, which uses glycine in an amount of 200-400 g on 1000 g of anhydrous nitrates, followed by drying, impregnating the produced composite d-metal oxide with lithium compounds and annealing, citric acid is added to the initial reaction solution in an amount of 650-1000 g on 1000 g of anhydrous nitrates, and as a gelling agent other than glycine, urea is used in the amount of 200-350 g on 1000 g of anhydrous nitrates.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve production conditions and to reduce its environmental burden by eliminating the dumping of mother liquors and virtually eliminating nitrogen dioxide emissions.
