FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of producing cathode material of composition Li1+xNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 for lithium-ion batteries includes heating of an initial solution of nitrate salts of appropriate metals and a gelling agent containing glycine, with subsequent drying and calcination (annealing) obtained after heating the initial powder mixture, characterized in that in the initial solution at least one nitrate of the corresponding metal is replaced for an equivalent amount of carbonate of the corresponding metal, and glycine and citric acid is used as a gelling agent, taken in the ratio of glycine: citric acid = 0.4÷0.8:1.0÷2.0 per 1 g of the final product, while lithium and the corresponding metal carbonate is introduced into the original solution after it was heated to 50-75°C, and extracted to the complete dissolution of the components, and lithium is introduced in the form of lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide.
EFFECT: invention allows to improve the reliability and quality of the cathode material.
