SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. Clamp for clamping the umbilical cord comprises a first portion with a clamping base, a second portion attached at one end to the first portion at one end of the clamping base by means of a resilient hinge, and a third portion. Second portion has an inner surface comprising a clamping base extending over a portion of the length of the inner surface of the second portion from the hinged end of said second portion and having a section extending from the clamping base of the second portion to the opposite end of the second portion. Third portion is attached to the first portion at the opposite end of the clamping base of the first portion by means of a resilient hinge, with which the first and third portions spring in different directions. Third portion comprises a clamping base, extending along the length of the inner surface of said third portion, and a contact section on the outer surface. Clamping bases of said second and third portions together form a continuous clamping base for pressing the received umbilical cord against the clamping base of the first portion when said clamp has said closed configuration. Clamping base of the first portion and the clamping base of the second and third portions comprise a series of teeth.

EFFECT: improved clamp for use in a cutting device is disclosed.
