FIELD: cattle breeding.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the management of a group of dairy animals. Management system includes a habitat area, such as a stable, which includes a lying and feeding zone and a milking zone, while the milking zone is equipped with a milking station for automatic milking of a dairy animal. System comprises a selection device and a separation zone, which is separated from the habitat zone and connected to the habitat zone by means of a selection device. Subgroup of dairy animals to be separated from the group of dairy animals is determined. Subgroup of dairy animals to be separated is determined together with a desired end time at which the dairy animals to be separated should be present in the separation area. For each individual dairy animal from the subgroup to be separated, an individual separation period is determined separately which runs from the individually determined start time until the end time. Individual separation period lasts from an individually determined start time to an end time. Dairy animal which walks to the selection device is guided by the selection device to the separation area if the dairy animal belongs to the subgroup of dairy animals to be separated, and if said dairy animal is present at the selection device during the individual separation period determined for said dairy animal. Activity of each dairy animal in the group of dairy animals is observed by means of an observation system while the dairy animal is in the lying and eating area. Individual separation period of each individual dairy animal from the subgroup to be separated depends on the activity of said dairy animal observed by the observation system. Management system includes a control system that defines subgroups of dairy animals to be separated from the group of dairy animals. Subgroup of dairy animals to be separated is determined together with a desired end time at which the dairy animals to be separated should be present in the separation area. For each individual dairy animal from the subgroup to be separated, an individual separation period is determined separately which runs from the individually determined start time until the end time. Dairy animal which walks to the selection device is guided by the selection device to the separation area. System is equipped with a surveillance system for observing at least the activity of each dairy animal from the subgroup of dairy animals to be separated, at least while the said dairy animal is in the lying and/or eating zone. Control system is connected to the surveillance system to obtain the activity of each individual dairy animal from the subgroup to be separated. Control system is configured to determine the individual separation period of each individual dairy animal from the subgroup to be separated, as a function of the activity obtained for the specified dairy animal.
EFFECT: improvement of the process of separation of the subgroup of dairy animals, the reduction of the individual period of separation, improvement of the reliability of separation is provided.
