FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: group of dairy animals is controlled in a system for keeping dairy animals. The system comprises a living area, e.g., a barn, including a lying and feeding area and a milking area. The milking area is equipped with a milking station for automatic milking of a dairy animal. The pasture area separated from the living area is connected with the living area by means of a selection apparatus. The activity of each dairy animal from the group of dairy animals is monitored using a monitoring system while said dairy animal is in the lying and feeding area. The selection apparatus is activated depending on the activity of said dairy animal monitored using the monitoring system.
EFFECT: group of inventions ensures reliable separation of the subgroup of dairy animals subject to separation into the separation area by the scheduled time.
