FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oncology and surgery, namely, to coloproctology and medical radiology. Embolization is performed using unlyzable microparticles of polyvinyl alcohol of 350–500 microns in size by super selective administration to the estuaries of the distal branches of the superior rectal artery under X-ray control, using non-ionic contrast agents until a retrograde release.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce rectal bleeding and restore the patient's hemoglobin level of more than 75 g/l, which does not require blood transfusion correction with decrease in post-radiation hematological complications from grade 3 to grade 2, as well as significantly improve the patient's quality of life as a result of reducing tenesmus to defecation and improve the general somatic condition.
