SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is a method for evaluating the effectiveness of neuroretinoprotective treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma with the use of the drug Retinalamin, including the determination of the content of neuron-specific enolase (neuron specific enolase or NSE) in the tear fluid, according to the invention it is determined before and after the treatment and with a decrease in the NSE content of at least 20 % of the initial indicator, the result of neuroretin protection is evaluated as effective.
EFFECT: use of the invention improves the accuracy of diagnosis of POAG by obtaining reliable criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of neuroretin-protection.
