FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measurement technology and relates to a device for measuring electric current. Device includes a light source to create a primary polarized light signal, Faraday sensory device made with the possibility of providing a secondary light signal, changed in polarization relative to the primary light signal, a detector for measuring the secondary light signal and a compensation element that provides the ability to compensate for changes in the polarization of the secondary light signal. Light source contains a light-generating element connected to each other through a light guide and a polarization element located at a distance from it, located at the base of the insulator of the insulating element. Detector contains interconnected via a light guide polarization analyzer located at the base of the insulator, and an intensity sensor located at a distance from the analyzer. Polarization element, the Faraday sensory device and the analyzer are connected to each other using polarized optical fibers.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the accuracy and reliability of measurements.
