FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and concerns a method for determining the chemical composition of the slag part. Method comprises the steps of ensuring the presence of a slag part, using an optical system to collect light, reflected from the surface of the slag part, and get a set of data based on the collected light. Resulting data set defines a matrix containing values representing the intensity of the part (LM, λ) of collected light. In addition, each part (LM, λ) is collected from one of the set of points (M) at one of the set of wavelengths. Matrix is indexed by the set of spatial coordinates (x1, x2, ...) of the set of points (M) and the set of spectral parameters (λ1, λ2, ...) representing the set of wavelengths. Next, the matrix is transformed to obtain a reduced set of values and a mathematical algorithm is performed using a reduced set of values in order to obtain the chemical composition of the slag part.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase productivity and ensure the possibility of control measurements during the production process.
