FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine and can be used for assessing the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy (PDT). Method involves optical coherent angiography (OCA) with a visual assessment of blood flow in a tumor transplanted into mice on the outer surface of auricle in its central part 24 hours after PDT. Images of microvascular mesh by OCA method are obtained in at least four points located on different sides of tumor center on border with tumor within normal tissue. Density of the microvascular mesh retained by the blood flow (DMMBF) is calculated for each OCA image in percentage of the image OCA area. Arithmetic mean of the DMMBF is calculated for all boundary points. When obtaining averaged value of DMMBF less than 1 %, PDT is considered to be effective.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate assessment of the early response to the PDT tumor by assessing the microvascular mesh that retains the blood flow.
