FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to production of cemented carbide. Method comprises the steps of: a) forming a suspension containing a grinding liquid, a binding metal and high hardness components, where said high hardness components include tungsten carbide with a hexagonal crystal structure, alloyed with a transition metal selected from Ta, Ti, Nb, V, Cr and mixtures thereof; b) subjecting said suspension to grinding and drying; c) subjecting the powder mixture to b) pressing and sintering. At that, doped tungsten carbide with hexagonal structure of crystals is subjected to nitrogen treatment by adding transition metal nitride or transition metal carbonitride to said suspension to step b), and said doped tungsten carbide is treated with gaseous nitrogen at the time of sintering. Disclosed is use of obtained cemented carbide for making cutting tools.
EFFECT: ensuring absence of extraction of cubic carbides, since they reduce rigidity of the obtained sintered product.
