SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of progression of bronchial obstruction in patients with comorbid chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and metabolic syndrome. The severity of shortness of breath is assessed using the Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale, forced expiratory volume in the first second, the level of IL-6, immunoreactive insulin, as well as the value of body mass index. Based on the data obtained, the discriminant function (D) is calculated. When D is greater than or equal to zero, the risk of progression of bronchial obstruction in patients with comorbid chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and metabolic syndrome is predicted during the year, and when D is less than zero, the absence of such a risk is predicted.

EFFECT: method allows to perform timely preventive and therapeutic therapy aimed at preventing the development and progression of this comorbid pathology and its cardiovascular complications, leading to early disability and mortality of people of working age by increasing the accuracy of assessing the risk of progression of bronchial obstruction by assessing the totality of the most significant indicators.
