FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to quantum electronics, namely to nondestructive inspection and diagnostics by optical methods, and can be used for investigation of processes of high-temperature burning of powders of metals, as well as processes of interaction of laser radiation with substance. Disclosed method of studying the combustion process of powders of metals or mixtures thereof involves igniting an examination object, focusing of radiation of laser amplifier operating in superlight mode on object of investigation, collection and direction of signal reflected from it to input of laser brightness amplifier, where it is amplified and projected onto a digital camera, the image of which is transmitted to a personal computer, where they are presented in digital form for image processing and analysis, wherein laser superlight luminance pulse is synchronized with digital camera exposure. Simultaneously initiation of combustion process in pre-compacted powder by means of focused radiation of initiation laser, fixing the beginning of the initiating radiation action by one photodiode, illuminating the surface of the object with focused radiation of the brightness amplifier, amplified reflected radiation, scaled by intensity, recording complete radiation with a second photodiode, recording monochromatic radiation with a digital camera. Signal strength of the second photodiode is determined from the intensity of the signal of the surface of the powder during and after exposure to the radiation of the initiating laser, and the timing of the combustion process is determined from the shape of the signal of the second photodiode.
EFFECT: possibility of simultaneous initiation of combustion process and obtaining quantitative information on time characteristics of combustion processes of powders of metals and their mixtures in real time.
