FIELD: materials research.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of materials research and can be used to study the processes of high-temperature combustion of metal powders. The device for studying the combustion process of metal powders or their mixtures contains an initiating laser, on the optical axis of which a mechanical shutter, a beam splitting plate, a biconvex lens and an object of study located on a linear translator are sequentially placed. The mechanical shutter is connected to the controller. The photodiode is installed opposite the beam-splitting plate at an angle to the optical axis of the initiating laser, equal to the angle of reflection of the beam-splitting plate. Opposite the object of study, next to each other, the emitter and the receiver are installed. The emitter is connected to an ultrasonic pulse generator. The receiver is connected to an amplifier that is connected to an analog-to-digital converter. A photodiode, an ultrasonic pulse generator and an analog-to-digital converter are connected to a controller that is connected to a personal computer.

EFFECT: ensuring the study of the combustion process even in conditions of strong smoke.
