FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hardening of surface of metals and alloys and can be used in various fields of industry and science for formation of protective and hardening coatings. Method of forming a coating containing intermetallic compounds of a Ni-Al system on a substrate of aluminum or its alloy involves detonation deposition of a layer of powdered nickel on said substrate to obtain a two-layer composite and subsequent processing thereof. Subsequent processing of said two-layer composite is carried out by high-intensity induction currents to melting down of near-surface layer of substrate with formation of diffusion zone between said substrate and formed coating containing intermetallic compounds of system Ni-Al.
EFFECT: higher quality of coating and efficiency of process of its formation.
