SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Disclosed is a control method for an internal combustion engine, which includes forming an air-fuel mixture which is leaner than an air-fuel mixture with stoichiometric air-to-fuel ratio in a cylinder by means of a first fuel injection. Performing the second fuel injection to the adjacent spark plug discharge channel space during the period in which the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder is subjected to low-temperature oxidation reaction in the compression stroke. After the second fuel injection, the spark ignition is performed by means of the ignition plug at the moment when the ignition spark spark reaches fuel injected by means of the second fuel injection.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to burn off a fuel-air mixture in engine, as well as to improve fuel efficiency and toxicity of engine.
