FIELD: transportation; gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas industry, to pipeline gas transportation, in particular, to methods of emptying gas line sections from gas contained in them. When implementing the method of emptying sections of pipelines from gas in multiple-flow main gas pipelines in one of the threads of the gas pipeline, the evacuated section of the pipeline is disconnected by means of shutoff-disconnecting devices. Gas from the emptied section of the pipeline is directed to the booster compressor installed between the gas pipeline threads running in the same corridor, the gas in the pipelines of which is under different pressures: under a higher and under a relatively low one. Booster compressor distributor is used to direct alternating gas from pipelines with gas of higher pressure and gas relative to low pressure into its driving cavities. Drive gas for booster compressor is withdrawn from pipeline with gas of higher pressure. Extracted gas from the evacuated section of the pipeline is compressed in a booster compressor and this compressed gas is sent to any other pipeline. Spent gas from booster-compressor drive is directed to pipeline with relatively low pressure gas.
EFFECT: improving economic efficiency, simplifying and improving environmental friendliness of the process of emptying pipeline sections from gas.
