FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol-delivering devices, such as smoking articles. Control body for an electronic smoking article comprises an elongated shell with an inner portion, a proximal end and an opposing distal end; a linkage having an end linked to the body engaged with the proximal end of the shell and having an opposite coupling end configured to releasably engage a cartridge; an electrical power source; an electronic circuit board inside the shell between the electrical power source and the coupler; and a pressure sensor attached to the electronic circuit board; wherein the inner portion of the shell comprises a normal pressure space and a reduced pressure space, and the first end of the pressure sensor is fluidly connected to the reduced pressure space, and the second end of the pressure sensor is fluidly connected to the normal pressure space, the end of the coupler linked to the body forms a wall, the coupling end of the coupler comprises a cavity, and the coupler comprises a pumping channel extending between the first end fluidly connected to the cavity, and a second end that is open through the wall to the end of the coupler linked to the body for fluid connection with the reduced pressure space.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to prevent the passage of any aerosol precursor composition from the cartridge into the interior of the control body.
